Melbourne Gliding Club operates from Bacchus Marsh Aerodrome.

We fly over the historic town of Bacchus Marsh region, home of the last remaining tree-lined World War 1 Avenue of Honour in the world.  On a good day you are able to see across Port Phillip Bay to Geelong and Melbourne, and fly over the Lerderderg Gorge.

How to get here

  • From Melbourne, take the first Bacchus Marsh exit, and then turn left onto Woolpack Rd.
  • Turn left on to the Bacchus Marsh - Geelong Rd.
  • Turn right onto Aerodrome Road (signage for the airfield).
  • Turn left at Jensz rd (first left).
  • Take the first right from the turn off, this is the entrance of the Club's facilities.
  • Drive past our clubhouse, through the gate, on your left is our hangar.
  • Once inside the airfield, follow the signs and drive along the perimeter road. You should see our gliders, tow planes and operations van.
  • Look for the "Melbourne Gliding Club" or "Victorian Motorless Flight Group" signage.

Please take extreme care when on the airfield, and ensure that you do not drive or walk across any of runways, as they may be in use at any time. Children must be supervised at all times. Pets are not allowed on the airfield.
